AN IRISH REPUBLIC.
ON MAYO FASTNESS. ARMY OF SIX HUNDRED. FREE STATERS EXPELLED. By Telesrvaph—Pree3 Association—Copyrisbt United Service. LONDON. Oct. 27. On the summit of precipitous cliffs in West Mayo a little rebel republic, boast-, ing 600 soldiers, has been established, known as General Kilroy's Western Republic. The general recently drove out Free State troops from Newport, the capital of the " republic," and since has been elected president.
Subjugation will be lengthy and difficult. The only roads wind round the bases of cliffs, where outposts and sentries are posted. The rebels are well armed and equipped.
