MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES.

FOUR OCCUPANTS INJURED.

TWO ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL ACCIDENT ON ST. HELIERS ROAD. A serious motor-car accident occurred on the main St. Heliers-Remuera Road at about half-past ten last night, when a motor-car containing eight people turned a complete somersault while returning to the city from St. Heliers. As a result of the accident, two of the occupants, Mr. Robert Hubbard, aged 24, residing at. New North Road, and Miss Flora McDonald, a girl of 17 years, residing' at Mountain Road, Mount Albert, are in the Public Hospital. Mr. Hubbard is suffering from internal injuries, the extent of which had not been ascertained last night, while Miss McDonald sustained rather severe cuts and bruises to her face. Shortly after seven o'clock, the car, whioh is a taxi-cab owned by Mr. John Bald, was engaged at the Victoria Street rank by Mr. Hubbard for a run to St. Heliers. There were seven passengers, four men and three women. While re turning to town, and when at the corner of Remuera and Hastings Roads, the car suddenly capsized and threw its occupanta out on to the road. Nearby residents soon became aware of the accident and Dr. W. M McCormick immediately went to the assistance of the passengers of the car.. In answer to a telephone call, an ambulance promptly left the hospital at 10.35 for the scene, arriving back at the hospital at 11 o'clock with the injured people. In addition to those who were admitted to the hospital, Mr. John Scorbie was found to have dislocated his left elbow, but after receiving treatment at the hospital he was able to proceed to his home at Anglesea Street, Ponsonby. Miss Gladys Baker, of Nelson Street, also received treatment for minor injuries. The full extent of the damage to the car has not yet been ascertained, but! the windshield was broken and the hood smashed as a result of the capsize. The scene of the accident is about a-quarter of a mile beyond' the Remuera tram terminus.
