A colonist of 80 years standing, Mrs. | Margaret Otto, died at her residence, 51, - >-,; ' Benson Road, Remuera. at the age of 81. • Mrs. Otto ,wa6 only six months old •when '' , she arrived at Auckland with her ' Mr. and Mrs. Isaao McEwan, by the ' Duchess of Argyle, on October 10, 1843. '^ The death of Mrs. Margaret Sullivan, an old colonist, occurred at on Saturday at the advanced age of 94 yoara. Mrs. Sullivan, who came from Uftle- v - : town Roche, County Cork, Ireland, arrived in New Zealand by the ship >; ■ Caroline about' 50 years ago. She first resided at Oamaru,. where she married, her late husband, who had taken part in the Waikato war a few years earlier. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan afterwards went ;.;;, to the Otago goldfielde, but later removed : . .-■* first to Timaru, and then to Balmerston - r.. North, finally coming to the Auckland ' district about 20 years ago.
