CONTROL OF CEMETERIES.
CREMATORIUM SITES. [BX TKLSGMAPH,—SPSCIAL BWOBTTB.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Slight additions to the law on the subject of cemeteries are proposed in the Cemeteries Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of Representatives to-day. The Bill provides that sites and plans" of crematoria must be submitted to the Minister for Health for his approval. Local authorities are authorised to maintain cemeteries out of ordinary revenue and trustees of cemeteries are empowered to regulate or prohibit further interments in graves. For the exercise of this power of regulation and prohibition, the trustees must have the consent of the Minister for Health. ?
