SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
NO RACE THIS YEAR. [by telegraph—own correspondent.] WANGANUI. Monday. The race for the world's sculling championship may not eventuate until March. Latest letters from Jim Paddon, holder of tho title, state that owing to a 'busy time with tho fisheries, he would not be able to think of a race boforo Christmas, and even if a challenge wens now issued on behalf of Hadfield, the holder of the title can claim six mouths' grace before the contest eventuates. i As it is now too late to get a race off before the end of the year, it is anticipated j that matters will be set in train for hold!ing the championship race sometime in j March or April of next year, when clim- : atic conditions will not be detrimental to the interests of the New Zealand oarsman
