[BX TELEGRAI'H —OWN CORRESPONDENT.) CHBIBTCHUBCH. Monday. The 39th annual report of Whitcombe and Tombs. Ltd.. for the year ended August 31, states that the not profit for the year, after making provision for bad and doubtful debts and writins down etocks likely to depreciate, amounts to £19.986. to which is added the balance brought forward from last year of £14,076, making a total of £84.0G1. which the directors have dealt with as follows:— To depreciation of buildings, plant, etc., £(i 000; to roperve for income toot, £2500; to interim dividend paid in March last, JE4837, They recommend that the balanco of £20,72-lt be appropriated as follows: —To pay a final dividend, of 5 per cent, on all ordinary capital, making 8 per cent, for the year, and a dividend of 8 per cent, on staff shares, £8319; the balance of £1:2,404 to be carried forward.

The New Zeilland Co-operative Dairy" Company haa recoived the following cablegram troni its London office, under date of September 30: — Butter.—Anchor. 2205: firsts, 218s; unsalted. 2245; Ihinish, 2235. The market is auietly firm. Expect an improvement in October. Cheese.—White, 965; coloured. Sis.' Expect a continuance round these prices, with coloured improving.
MATSTAWATU STOCK SALES. Messrs. Abraham and Williame, Ltd., report on their Palniereton North sale, hold on September 28:—A amall entry of eheep and a fair entry of dairy cattle camo forward. There was a good demand for good quality dairy heifors, other sorts being neglected. W« quote as follow:—A line of 12 Jersey hoifera made £12 &s, others £7, £8. £9, £10 5e to £12, heifers in. milk £4 10s io £7 Ss; dairy cows, springing £7 5s to £8; store cows £1, £1 2« 6d. £1 8s to £2; extra, choice Jersey heifers up to £g; crossbred haifers £3 16a to £3: bulls £i 17a 6d to £7 lOe. At Feilding, on September 29, a. very small yarding of sheep came forward and sold freely at current rate*. A heavy yarding of all classes of cattle- met with a good e*U\ the demand for grown bullocks being well maintained. Wo quote:—Fat wethers, 20s 9d, 245.
