AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Auckland Cr.cket Association wa 3 held last evening. Air. !«'. presided over a large attendance of ciGie&ates. The visit of the English cricket team was also referred to by the chairman, who said that the terms on which the team was cornins were exceedingly favourable to the Auckland Association, which would have the benefit of two.matches, one at the beginning of the tour and the other at the end. If the tour did not turn out a financial success the association would not lor.e any money. Re-ardinu control of the game the chairman said that cricket in Auckland was not in cl sie touch with the New Zealand Council at Christchurch. The constitution and control of the council was not satisfactory. The Southern tour of the Auckland team required the hearty co-operation of every affi.iated club in the association, and he had great confidence in the team's success The two bate presented by Mr. Earl for the best performers of last season wero presented to Messrs. E. McLeod (bataman) and C. Allcott (bowler). Special reference was made to the presentation of the up-to-date scoring board at Eden Park by Mr. F. W. Wake- Reference was also made to the iservices rendered to cricket generally by Mr. E. C. Beale, but for whom there would have been no Ed»n Park, and who was mainly responsible, through Lord Hawke. for securing the serviced of Albert ReU as coach to the association.
