BEAUTIFYING.
Sir, —1 seo the Mayor is suggesting thfl organisation of a- Beautifying Society. It is a splendid idea, and in case, the society has any difficulty in finding a starting point it might do worse than begin by protecting the beauties of Mount Hobson against the encroachment of dairy c&ttle grazing there, apparently under arrangement with the City Council. It is well to beautify when we can, but it is even hotter that we should not despoil. Hilltop.
