The Australian League team played Bay of Plenty this afternoon in cloudy, cold weather. From th« kick-off Rotorua attacked, and Gardner carried the ball between the posts. Rogers converted. Play waa mostly in the visitors' half for the first 20 minutes, when Burge secured a try, which was not converted. Rule almost immediately, from a passing rush, secured a try, and the attempt failed. Alter 30 minutes' piAy Border had to leave the field injured, as the result of a heavy fall, on his head. Before half-time another try was secured by the visitors. Itt the first part of the second half the home team fought desperately to carry the ball over, play being within a> few yards of the Australian line. Condition and combination eventually told, and the visitors, playing a very fast, open passing game, completely outclassed their opponents, the game closing: Australia, 29; Bay of Plenty, 5. O'Conror was ordered off for rough play. The horce team's tackling was very good. Four penalty kicks were missed. AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES. A TEN YEARS' SUSPENSION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON* Tuesday. A meeting of the New Zealand Ruj-by Union was neld to-night. An application, from the Wanganui Union for a loan of £500 for alterations and additions to the stand at the Recreation Ground was referred to the Finance Committee. The South Canterbury Union advised that it had suspended a Temuka player for ten years for deliberately knocking out an opposing player. This being the manV third offence of the kind* the suspension was firmedTHE ASSOCIATION GAME. THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Auckland Football Association met last evening, the chairman, Mr. D. A. Williams, presiding. v A letter from the New Zealand Association stated that an appeal by the Philomel Club in connection with the championship, had been, dismissed, and ; the decision of the Auckland Association to bracket the North Shore and Philomel Clubs, was endorsed. It was resolved? that the final of the Falcon Cup should be played at North Shore on Saturday afternoon, and that the curtainraiser be the replay of the final in the third division knock-out competition between North Shore and Y.M.C.A. MATCHES FOR SATURDAY. The following Association football matches have been arranged for Saturday: Falcon Cup Final.—Ponaonby v. Brotherhood, North Shore, 3 p.m., Mr. J. J. "Wright.
