MOANATAIARI.
ANOTHER LODE CUT.
The crosscut on the hillward side of tlio Moanataiari slide in the Caledonia-Kurnnui-Moanataiuri mine, Thames, i» now in 255 ft. from the. main level. The mine manager, Mr. S. G. Baker, report* that at 219 ft. a lodo about l'2in. wido was cut, running, at njjht anK'CS to the crosscut, and dipping north. The drive on No. 9 reef is in Ft2ft, and the reef i 3 still being stripped. Progress in this face has been elow, as the men wore unable to work for two days on account of shortage of explosives. WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. Tho following cabled information ha.-, been sent to tho head office in London of the Waihi Grand Junction Cold Co.:—No. 9 level, Empire lode: The crosscut at 325 ft. west toward the Martha lode has been extended to 93ft. We are now concentrating on siukinc winzes on the Empire lode, with a view to quickly opening up that lode on No. 10 leveli In the latter the main southeast crosscut has been extended to 59ft. from the shaft.
