«e» ■ > AMOUNTS FOR LOCAL' BODIES. | AUCKLAND DISTRICT FIGURES An Order-in-Council is published in the latest Gazette authorising the raising of. loans by 20 local authorities throughout I the Dominion. The aggregate is over £ 177,000. The schedule contains the following loana to be raised by local bodies within the Auckland District: —Mount Eden Borough Council, for streets construction, £10.000; Franklyn County Council, for repaying portion of its antecedent liability, £9000; Cambridge Electric Power Board, for installing electrical fittings and plant, £7000; and Whansrarei Borough Council, for repaying an electricity loan j maturing next month, £1300. Tho rate of interest on tho New Lynn Town Board's loan of £855 for paying off it« antecedent liability is prescribed at not exceeding 6 per cent. Similar provision is made respecting the Hamilton Borough Council's loan of £22,115, the Takapuna Borough Council's loan of £6000, and the Mangonui County Council's loan of £8830 for the same purpose. I!he> .proceedings in connection with the Whangarei Borough Council's loan of £5600 for workers' dwellings have been validated, as the irregularity in respect to giving public notice of the special order' authorising the loan did not mislead the ratepayers. i
