There were several dealings in Govern, ment loan issues.on the Aucklaud sharemarket yesterday. War Loans, 1958, changed hands at £98, with further buyera at £97 15b and no late sellers. War Loans, 1941, -were done at £97 15s, and more were wanted at £97 10s without sellers. Soldiers' Loan (bonds) sold at £99 ss, late Buyers £99, sellers £99 12s 6d. New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938 and 1939, had sale at both the afternoon calls at £98, sellers closing 10s firmer, with buyers of the former issue at £97 15s, and of the latter at £97 17s 6d. In banks Nationals had demand at £6, sellers £6 2s. New Zealands changed hands at 55s 9d, at which price more could have been plaoed, lato sellers asking 56b 3d. Buyers offered £13 17s 6d for P. and O. Banks, and £13' 6s for Unions of Australia, but there were no sellers. In insurances New Zealands sold at 295, sellers closing at 29s 3d, with further buyers at 295. South British at 38s 3d had buyers at 36s 6d. In gae Aucklands (paid up) sold at 24s and (con.") 18s 6d. In miscellaneous lines New Zealand Refrigerating (paid up) were done at 24is 6d, and Wilsons Cements at 21s. In mining Waihis had demand at 28s, sellers 28s 3d. Grand Junctions sold at 10s, with more on offer at that figure, late buyers 9s lOd. Moanataiaris changed hands at 2s lOd, sellers closing at 3s, buyers at 2s 6d. CASE FOR COURT OF APPEAL.

The taking of evidence was conculded at the Supreme Court yesterday in a claim for possession of certain timbercutting rights at Waimiha brought by the Waimiha Sawmilling Co., Ltd., in liquidation (Messrs. W. D. Anderson and Endean)*, against theWaione Timber Co., Ltd. (Messrs. Stanton and Cocker). Counsel formally moved for judgment, when Mr. Justice Herdman, who presided, intimated that the whole matter would be removed to the Court of Appeal.
