YOUTHFUL VISITORS.
ANOTHER INTERESTING DAY. SUBURBAN INDUSTRIES. Another busy md interesting day was spent by tli* party of boys from the Northem W'nina who are being entertained in Auckland as members of the Young Caiaenu' league. In the morning the boya went by tram fo Groy Lynn, where they viaibed the Textile Company's works. They ware most interested in "tho work. I'hev U»en walked to Hern© Bay, via Cox's Cheek, and went by tram to the kindeirjtatten at Victoria* Park. Rijre they entertained the kindergarten children with a, Maori haka, which was greatly appreciated. St. Matthew's tower was also visited, delight being expressed at tho wonderful view obtained.
In iho afternoon tho party went to Onehunsa by tram and visitod tho Onehunga Woollon Mills. Tho boys took a very keen interest in the wonderful machine* and tho processes explained to them. Mr. 3. P. Ewen 'congratulated the boys on their excellent behaviour.
The evening was spent at St. Thomas* Hall. Freeman's Bay, where over 250 boys and girls wore present, including the 26 Wairoa boys. Community singing, games, songs, and recitations were thoroughly' enjoyed by the gathering and the boys gave a haka that elicited great applause. Supper was supplied and the boys left for the Y,M.C-A. in excellent spirits after an enjoyable evening. To finish a strenuous yet instructive day the boys visited the Tepid Baths shortly aften ten o'clock. To-morrow morning the party will visit the Art Gallery, the Library, and Laurie's confectionery factory. In ttie afternoon, at the invitation of Dr. 0. E. Maguire, they will visit the Auckland Hospital, and at 3 p.m. will go to Takapuna, where they will be the guests of Mr. H. Brett. They will then motor to Birkenhead, where a meeting will be attended in the evening. The party will leave for home on Monday. Mr. C. E. Bernard, one of the assistant superintendent* of the Northern Wairoa League, who accompanies the Earty, stated last evening that the tour ad been so successful- that it had been decided to send a party of girls to Auckland next year. He also invited the Young Citizens' League to send a party of boys to tour the Northern Wairoa.
