ACCIDENT IN QUEEN STREET A motor accident occurred in Quean Street on Saturday at 3.30 p,m.»Mfc .■ r Charies Lewis Johnson, a mechanic, aged*, '; 40, who resides in Pah Road, Onehnnga, being knocked down and receiving wjurise to hia head which necessitated his removal to the Auckland Hospital. Mr. Johnson was crossing Queen Street in the direction of Durham Street when a tramcar and* motor-car, travelling almost abreast, came along. He crossed in front of the bam* { i; car and was knocked down by themtioft, ■ An examination on his arrival at the hospital showed that he was suffering from a fracture of the base of the akull J in operation was performed, buti he had m* f regained consciousness last night a'ld tin condition was regarded as critical.
