TELEGRAPH. —S\VN COBRESPONDENT.J CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The nominations received for the New Zealand Trotting Cup number 18. There are a few notable absentees among horses in training. Man-o'-war is ■apparently to* be confined to Auckland tracks, and Willie Lincoln, who is not sound, in probably to bo raced over short journeys, whioh will not entail such a severe preparation. Ojnako and Rangitata Lass are two other ehgibles, but their Omission will not eerioualy affect the prospects of the race. It came somewhat as a surprise, however, to find the Auckland maro Nita Bell' misninir, as after her form at the recent meeting she looked a good Cup prospect. The 18 noises with engagements axe a. good lot, and most of them can be looked on as likely starters. This, however, is to be viewed aa the real weakness, tb,a.t the field may be too big to ensure the best results. .
