NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME.

■» —- [prom our own corespondent.] LONDON. July 21. Mr. W. R. Wilson, of Auckland, wht arrived in London recently for raedica advice, underwent an operation at a nurs ing home last Monday. So far he has made very gratifying progress, and a gooc recovery is confidently expected. Mrs Wilson and her family are at present staying at Hampstead. Mr. and Mrs. E. Cucksey, of Auckland have set out on a motor tour of England and Scotland, accompanied by Mrs. King and Miss A. E. Barker, of Christchurch, Mr. S. F. Bcier, of Auckland, ( hai returned from a short trip to France, undertaken to see the grave of his son. On his Arrival in England again. Mr, Boler says he would like to testify tc the excellent work of the St. Barnabas hostels, where Mr. Mullineux and hi.* lady workers do everything possible to aid war-grave pilgrims. Mr; Boler is staying with relatives in Manchester, and aftei a few months in the Mother Country ht will visit France, Belgium, Switzerland. Italy, and then reisurn to New Zealand via Suez. i Mr. W. C. Beswick, of left Southampton yesterday by the Remuera. He returned trom Oberammergau a few days previously, and was much impressed with the Passion Play. Mr. T. J. Thomas, of Auckland, has booked his return passage by the Esperance Bay, to,sail on August 1. He hat recently been in France and Belgium, visiting a number of the military cemeteries. Accompanied by his brother, hf motored through the United Kingdom from John o' Groats to Land's End. Dr. Graham D. lldndsay, of Auckland, who arrived by the Cornwall, is going, tc Edinburgh to take some post-graduat« work at the university. Dr. Ldndsay expects to return to New Zealand about the end of the year.. The engagement is announced of Dr. J. McMurray Cole, son of Mr. D. G. Cole, of Onehunga, and Dr. Elizabeth Alcock, daughter of Mr. Simpson Alcock, of Mansfield, Notts. , The marriage is expected to take place toward the end of September, and early in October the voyage to New Zealand will be started. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Jessep, of Napier, are attending the Royal garden party at Buckingham Palace to-day. Mr. Jessep was present at the luncheon given in honour of the Lord Chancellor by the Australian and New Zealand Luncheon , Club this week.
