Mr. Mark Maxton, of Grey town, haa ' received a letter from Sir Godfrey Thomas, private secretary to the i'rinoa of Wales, thanking him for some oil paintings, which he sent to His Royal Highness on behalf of Whare Turei and Mr. E. Boyd.
Mr. L. A. Lodge, who has been accountant of the National Bank of New Zealand in Timaru for the last six and a-half years, is resigning from the service and will be succeeded in bis presant position by Mr. F. Watkih, ot the Dunedm branch.
Mr. George Shandy who for the pari two years has been assistant-manager of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Compaay, Ltd., has been appointed manager at Oamaru, and leaves for the South this week. Mr. H. D. Robinson, his successor, who was in charge at Masterton, arrives this morning.
