OBITUARY.
DEATH OF OLD COLONIST. MRS. MARY REBECCA SHARP. The death of Mrs. Mary Rebecca Sharp, at the age of 82 years, removes another of the early residents of Bombay district. The deceased's father —a native of Brumham, near Bristol—the late Mr. Joseph Wootton, came to New Zealand in 1866 in the ship Bombay. His only daughter came out, some little time later, and was married to Mr. George Sharp, one of the original settlers. When her husband died over 30 year® ag&, the late Mrs. Sharp was left with six children, and dieplayed those qualities of courage and grit so characteristic of the early colonists. She resided in the same district, with tine exception of short intervals, up to the time of her death. She leaves the following family:—Maidames Henry Booke (Matakana), John Craig (Pukekohe), A. Best (Bombay), and E, Piggott (Buckland), and' Messrs. Henry G-. Sharp (Foxton) aad W. Sharp (]satakana). „ '
