CI.AY BIRD CHAMPIONSHIP. [BY TELrGEAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. Tuesday. The SW Zealand Gun Clubs Association's clay bird shooting match for the champioruhip of Nov; Zealand took place at Tahuna Park to-day. The weather waa fine and the light good, a light breeze !'(*H little effect upon the pigeon# when released from the trap. The shooting was on the whole very creditable. There were 20 competitors representing various gun r ■». ;rom Auckland, Palmerston Nortli, Nanier, Canterbury, .Southland, tand Otaeo. Each competitor shot from the 18 yards mark and the number of birds fired at was 21. The winner was A. Dobson. of the Auckland Gun Club, who secured 20 hits, which i s considered an excellent performance. F. W. Peck, Auckland Gun Club, and G. E. Tumor, Dunedin Gun Club, tied for second place, with 19 birds each. and divided the second and third prize money. L. P. Hughes (Auckland), T. Parker (Nanier), and J. Ohlowski (Dunedin), made 13 each. The following also competed:—F. Truscott (Christchurch). Henderson {Southland), W. H. Peid (Christchurch). A. King (Durirdin), L. Moffat (Christchurch), R. Marshall (Palmerston North). A. Byrne (Dunedm), E. P. Graham (Dunedin). The following retired after making four or more misses: —H. V. Truscott (Christchurch), C. Voice (Christehurrh), Flandell, Maeanley, and Taylor (Sov.thla.nd), Clinch (Auck.anu), and F. G. Fr-mnton (Christchurch). -
