HOWICK TOWN DISTRICT.
FIRST BOARD ELECTED.
The first election of commissioners for the Howick Town District was held yesterday. Considerable interest wao taken 5n the ejection. The successful candidates are:—Messrs. J. Crawford 166 votes, D. Strong 145, W. D. Hughes 142, T. Granger 127, W. Dumper 127, J. T. Gill 122, and E. D. Babes 122. The unbuccessful candidates bts: —Messrs. C. R. Mclnnes US, W. E. Siijvewright 107, and "W. Langdon 74.
