RECOVERY OF BETS.
CLAIM BY BOOKMAKER. A. and NZ. MELBOURNE, .June 29. J. Cblman, a bookmaker, has issued a writ against a Melbourne doctor for recovery of £993, being the amount paid in settlement of a wager last year. The amount was paid by cheque, and Colman bases his claim on the ground that the claim follows closely upon the decision of the executors of the estate of Richard Garland.
