4 UNDER LEAGUE RULES. THE WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. The Wednesday competition under the auspices of the Auckland Rugby League will be continued at Carlaw Park this afternoon. The following will represent Tramways against Carters—Hill, Baker, Ellis, Eyan, Webb. Benjamin, Shanaghan, Harvey, Hooker, Teague, Howell,- Clark, Dempsey, Beacham, Trembath, Fry, Pivach, Griffiths. Ball presiding. „^ta m A The South Auckland Association notified that arrangements had been completed tor its representatives to play Auokls.nu for tne Brown Shield at Auckland next Saturday, but raised objection to tne referee appointed by the New Zealand Counoil. Ifwas decided to refer the matter to the governing body. The New Zealand Council notified that a challenge for the Brown Shield had been received from the Wanganui Association. Mr. R. Banister reported that the Auokland Rugby Union had consented to forego its claim to a ground at Victoria Park next Saturday, in view of the Brown Shield match with South Auokland. * It was decided to play thei> primary schools' matoh, Belmont v. St. Heliers. as a curtain-raiser to the Brown Shield game. Permission was granted for the playing of a match between an ex-service eleyen and the "crew of the Wiltshire at Victoria Park this afternoon. ■-•*«. e * It was decided to suspend the nrst, second, third, and fourth division club competitions next Saturday. The boys matches will be continued as usual. The Corinthian Club was granted permission to play a return match with the crew of the Wiltshire on one of the grounds at Victoria Park next Saturday. Messrs. F. M. Ritchie and G-. W. Bagne were appointed to wait on the executive, of the Auckland Rugby League, reauesting that the League postpone its fixtures on "July 1. when the third test matoh between Australia and New Zealand will be played at the Auckland Domain. It was decided to inform the Chelsea Sugar Works Club that a match could not be arranged for it next Saturday, as the senior competition was being suspended on account of the Brown Shield game. WILTSHIRE V. EX-SERVICE. An interesting game ha* been Arranged at Victoria Park for thia afternoon, between teams from the Wiltshire and *n evaemce eleven selected by Lieut. Bowie. The Wiltshire men should benefit by their gam* against the Corinthians last week, and no doubt, Cranny (a very clever exponent of the game), Murphy, Webb and Winslow will keep thoir opponents vcary buoy. The Wiltehlre team is Bassett, Raffles, Webb, Bines. Aehwoll. Farr. Heapy, McCarthy. Cranny, Murphy and Elphick. The ex-service eleven will be chosen from Hall, Whowell, Farquhar. McGarry, Harrison. Watkiu, Kean. Kouatt, Bowie, Barnes, Innee, Siinrne. Dacre, Rigden and White. Mr. P. B. Greenhough and Mr. V- H. Potter, M.P., have donated, a ball for the game, which will be refexeed by Mr. Robineon. Lieut. B. S. Judson, .V.C., will kick off at 3 p.m. The ex-eemce eleven, who will play in white, will report at 2.30 p.m. DRAW FOR SATURDAY'S GAMES.
