EAST COAST RAILWAY.
VVAIHI TO TAURANGA. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TAURANGA. Friday. At a meeting of the County Council today a letter was read from Mr. P. E. Cheal chairman of the Auckland Railways League, giving particulars of the efforts of the league to secure more expenditure on the railway from Tauranga toward Waihi, and urging united action by tho local bodies of the district during the coming session of Parliament. The council unanimously decided to urge on the Minister for Public Works the desirability of pushing on the construction of the Tauranga-Wajhi section.
