CREW OF FOURTEEN CARRIED.

FOUR NEW ZEALANDEBS. The barque Manurewa, which left Sydney on April 1 for Clarence River to load a cargo of hardwood for Auckland and has not been seen since April 9, is registered at Sydney, but is owned by A. S. Paterson and Company, of Auckland, and Captain R. J. Holmes, master of the vessel. According to the' GovernmentShipping Office at Sydney the following comprised her crew when she left that port: Master, R. J. Holmes; mate, George Wilson; second mate, L. G. Peek,; able seamen : J. Schott, Alberto Varquz, A/Bunacele, K. Littlejohn, D. Patience; ordinary seamen, M. J. Aird and D. M. Clark; boy, K. Munn; cpok and steward, J. Peakbody; deck boy, J. E. Sladenj wireless operator, R. W. Potter. A cablegram from Sydney, published on May 5, Btated that of the 14 members of the crew four were New Zealanders, these being Captain Holmes, <af Thorpe, Nelson, the second mate, L. S. Peek, of Auckland, K. Littlejohn, of Wellington, and D. M. Clark, of Auckland. The Manurewa is an iron barque of 327 tons. She was built at Glasgow in 1884 and was formerly named the Valo Royal. It is thought in Sydney that the barque sighted by Captain O'Connor, of the steamer Merimbula, when north of Merimbula on April 14 was *ho barque Tnverveil. which arrived at Newcastle on April 19 from the semaphore anchorage, South Australia-
