BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
ONEHUNGA ACTIVITIES. The annual meeting of the Onehung* Ladies' Benevolent Society was held in the Congregational Hall. The Mayor, Mr« J. Park, presided. The annual report stated that pood wori: had been dons among the poor of Onehunga, made possible by the generosity of the many friends of the society. Mrs/ Hawkena and her pupils attending the public school at Te Papapa had made 100 garments as a Christmas box fox poor children. The treasurer's statement showed thai the receipts had been £288, and that there was in hand almost £30.. The following officers were elected r^ —President, Mrs. L. Logan; vice-prcsidenta, Mesdames J. Park and D. D. Scott; hon. secretary, Mrs. A. M. Parker; treasurer, Mrs. E. Burden; committee, Mesdames J. Rowe, J. Whyte, I. Hutchinson, A. G. Houldsworth,*R Buchanan, B. J. Davies, F. G. Ryan, E. Neville, A. Kennedy, and -S. J. Peake.
