WOMAN'S REMARKABLE SKILL

A feeble-minded woman's irresistible mania for making counterfeit Treasury no)oa—work which, with crayons, she did with rapidity and skill—was revealed at Bradford recently. The woman, Ada Bolton, 27, pleaded guilty to having obtained a tin of salmon and 8s 6d by false pretences.

It was stated she wen't to a, little house shop and bought a, tin of salmon from the 13-year-old girl in charge, and tendered what was accepted as a 10s note. .She was given 8s 6d change. Later the girl's mother found the note Mas a bad one. On the previous day she obtained money by means of a counterfeit £1 note.

Superintendent Petty said this was Bolton's fifth appearance in a, criminal Court. She was sent to an institution for feeble-minded persons at. Huddorsfield, but she escaped. She made the notes herself with crayons, and had been seen to make one in ten minutes. Bolton was sent back in charge of a-nurse to the institution from which sho absconded.
