The Royal National Lifeboat Institution has now commenced its most ambitious rcflssl, a motor lifeboat of the now Baimetfc type, which will bo tho largest— a 60-footer—of any kind in tho world. .She is also tho lirst to have cabins, in which tho rescued may Jind warmth, food, and shelter. She will be able to "steam" 100 miles at 10 knots. The cabins take tiftjy passengers, and tho whole boat, 150. Other novelties include a net, for the rescued to jump into, auxiliary machinery for elcctric searchlight and lighting, a gun which can throw a line 150 yards into tho teeth of a gale. She is fso lio at Now Brighton, near Liverpool, and will co:;fc from £17,000 to £10,000. Graphic.
