C.E.M.S. CONFERENCE.

CONCLUDING BUSINESS. The conference of the Church of England Men's Society concluded yesterday. The following officers were elected:— Vice-president, the Rev. H. G. Blackburne; treasurer, Mr. J. W. Henderson; auditor, Mr. Sunley. Sympathetic resolutions were passed in connection with the Bible Class movement, immigration work, the Council of Christian Congregations, and the citizens' prayer meetings. The following resolution was passed:— "That this conference urges upon all members of the Church of England Men's Society to unite to win back Good Friday as a holy day, as Anzac Day has been made by the Returned Soldiers' Association, instead of a holiday on which public sports, tournaments, and picnics are com. monly held." After the conference had finally closed the visiting delegatos were entertained at a dinner by the Auckland members. The next conference is to be held at Christchurch.
