I The Anglican Church has been without the services of a resident vicar since the departure of Mr. Hawksworth eallv in, the year. Axi appointment has now been j made to fill the vacancy, the R«v. Charles j Addenbrooke, M.A. (Trinity College, j Camhridgel, having takan up the duties i in the parish. A strong vestry has been ; elected, and it is hoped that the church ! will take a new lease of life. The Rodney Hockey Club held its! annual meeting last week-end. It was decided to enter a challenge for the i Norden Cup, and also for the White! Horse Shield, tthioh Rodney holds at j present. It was also decided to invite a nrst-ciass team from Auckland to come down and meet a Rodney team on July 1 or 15. Cup matches will commence on Mav 6. The annual meeting of housenolders was so poorly attended that there wpre not sufficient present to elect a fu'l committee. Messrs. L. Flower. J. Morrison, W Hamilton and J. P. Smytheman were nominated and declared elected. Other names were suurested to be sent to the board for appointment. The memorial which has been erected bv the residents of Warkworth and luirrounding districts in memory of thos6 who gave their Ires in the war was j unveiled on Anzac Day. Mr. F. Maiider, j M.P. for Marsden, performed the ceremony. The memorial takes the form of I i handsome obelisk of Coromandel | granite, and has been erected on a small: vacant piece of land in the main street; of Warkwnrth.
