CONFERENCE OF DELEGATES. A conference of representatives of vari- , ovis associations in the Public Service *a* held, by invitation of the Association «*■■'■ Retired Public Servant*, in the railway social hall on Tuesday evening. Mr. M. ; Guthrie, who presided, said that when it was inaugurated the Retired Servants Association had been of a 60ciad catort, but it had been found that so many matters of interest to members needed attention that the monthly meetings had assumed a business character. Tho mattes dealt with were specially those relatmg... to contributions to superannuation ™J*J.j: and allowances from the funds. matters considered were the position « | widows, and the necessity for further provision in the ev*nt of the school eof.--being raised to 15 year-?. Satisfaction.. was expressed with the new city by-law controlling motor traffic as securing greater safety for aged and infirm anniitante, and it" was commended to subnrbaß local bodies for adoption. The eight remits adopted by tho conference will vm j further considered by each association <» public servants in order to secure unity of action.
