HAMILTON FIRE VICTIMS.
FUNERALS AT PUREWA,
The funerals of the two victims of the Hamilton fire, Mr. H. Moore-Jones and Mr. T. D. o'Moore, took place yesterday. Both funerals were at Purawa Cemetery.
There was a largo cumber of momueis at the funeral of Mr. Moore-Jones. Colonel H. E. Potter, officer cominajxhng the Northern command, was represented ; by Lieutenant R. S. judson, V.C., while the Returned Soldiers' Association was represented by the secretary, Mr. Elliott, and membera of the executive. Maay prominent citizens were also present. A wreath of poppies, sent by the Returned Soldiers' Association, was among many beautiful wreaths forwarded. The nailbearers, who were all returned soldiers,.; were Messrs. T Long % J. Jack. R. Gordon, E. S. C. Hamlin, L. Lloyd, and B. Clarke. Services at the house and the graveside were conducted by the Rev. W. Beatty, of St. Mark's Church, Remuera;. who referred to the splendid spirit of self-sacrifice which Mr. Moore-Jones had shown in his gallant resent work. Representatives of the Auckland Com : raercial Travellers' Association were pre-', sent at Mr. O'Moore's funeral. A | number of wreaths had been forwarded. The chief mourners wore deceased's father-in-law, Mr. W. Carson, and his two brothers-in-law, Messrs. H, C. Car-; 1 son and N. W. Carson. The pali-bearere, who were all Mr. O'Moore's comrades of the road, were Messrs. D..W, McLean, a past president of tho iwsociation, H. Wallace, R. B. Scott, B-. W. F. Donaldson, H. H. Davy, and 'i, W, Browning, The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Jasper Oaldor, Anglican city missioner.
