FATALITY AY TUAKAiJ. [bt telegraph-own correspondent.] TUAKAU. Tueoday. While carting logs to the local sawmill Mr. Basil A. Scanlen, aged 32, was crushed by a log falling from the wcggon, and died instantly, Mr. Scanlen was a returned soldier, having seen active service with the main body, Auckland Mounted Rifles, at Qallipoli. He had resided in the district foi 16 years. His parents reside at Mars Avenue, Edendalo. At the inquest, a verdict was returned of accidental death, no blame being attachable to anyone.
