UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE.
♦ BOTH CREWS IN TRAINING. , OXFORD'S SECOND EIGHT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 25. The Oxford and Cambridge crews have just entered upon 9trict training for the boat race on April 1. Both are paddling long distances, with occasional bursts of Bpeed, There are no Australians in either crew. Oxford's experiment in training a second eight, stroked by Girdlestone, an Adelaide oarsman, is creating interest. Frequent little burets between the two crews have sharpened the first eight considerably, and there will probably be two eights for both universities in future.
