CHEAPER FLOUR AND BREAD
LOWER PRICES NEXT WEEK. ONE PENNY OFF 4lb LOAF. Information has beon received from Christchurch that the price of flour has been fixed by the Government at £18 per ton f.o.b. southern ports, the new rate to come into operation next Wednesday, March 1. Last season tho southern price was £21, a subsidy of 30s boing paid to millers, but no subsidy will be paid this season. In anticipation of the new season's flour coming in at a lower rate, the Auckland millers recently reduced their price to £20, but it is not yet known what further reduction, if any, will be made in Auckland. , ' It is also reported that tho price of the 41b. j loaf will be reduced by one nennv. '
