ODDFELLOWS' CONFERENCE.
THE AUCKLAND DISTRICT. SITTINGS AT HAMILTON. The annual conference of the Auokland district of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows will be at Hamilton this week, the opening se&sion taking place to-morrow afternoon. This will be the first occasion in 25 years .in which the conference has been held outside the City, of Auckland. The dißtriot'6 operations extend through, out the whole of the province of Auckland, from Gisborne and Taumarunui, in the South, to Hokianga in the North. Some 60' delegates are expected to be present at the conference, representing the 41 Lodges which comprise the district. The oldest Lodge in the district, the Loyal Good Intent Lodge, wa» established in Auckland in 1850, and now has a' membership of 526- The youngest ie the Loyal Papakura Lodge, which was established this year, with a membership of 15. The total membership of the district on December 31 wa 8 3787 adults. The membership of the Manchester Unity, whose ramifications extend throughput the English-speaking world, exceeds one million. The society hag had a record year financially. For the first time the income of tho sick and funeral fund exceeds £2,000,000. The aggregate income of the society for the year was M 696.212,. and the payments. £1,882,101. The interest income was £709,130. The payments for- sickness were £874,890, and the funeral claims £184,925. The total funds of the society now amount to £19,041,362.
