POWER BOARD ELECTION.
NOMINATIONS FOR SEATS.
SUBURBAN INTERESTS.
MEETING THIS MORNING. The nominations of candidates for the 12 seats on the Auckland Electric-Power Board will close at the Town Hall at neon to-day. So far, the following 16 candidates hare been nominated: —Miss K. Melville, Messrs. H. N. Bagnall, M. J. Bennett, T. Bloodworth, S. I. Crookes, J. Dempsey, S. J. Harbutt. P. M. Hills, Vf. J. Holdiwotb, B. T . House, J. Part, K. S. Peglcr, E. H. Potter, J. Robertson, J. Rowe and A. M. Wilson. No particular interests are recognised in the constitution of the board, and the 12 members who will bo elected will bo jointly chosen by the whole area of tho board's jurisdiction. The local bodies of tho suburban portion of the district, howover, are contemplating the nomination of candidates, who, if elected, will bo expected to watch their interests. With a view to deciding what action shall be taken, a meeting of representatives of the suburban local bodies, convened by the Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. W. J. Shackelford, will be held in tho City Council Chamber at 10.30 a.m. today. All representatives aro requested to attond. Tho City Council also will be represented in the candidates, seven members of that body having already beon nominated. The election will be held on February 28, and the polling hours throughout the whole area will bo from 9 a,m. till 6 p.m.
