The Rodney Agricultural Society's irmual show wa 6 ' le 'd at Warkworth on Saturday under ideal weather conditions ari d with a record ntUndanco. The total exhibit* were aboui 1400, and although in the stock classes the, entries were not 5 n numerous as usual some excellent stock was shown.
A number of valuable cups wore given is trophies, the winners king:—Champion hack, C. Pickering; champion shorthorn bull, ■'■ F. Laurie; champion shorthorn co»', ,1. D. Martin and Sons; champion Hidstein bull, A. Migounoff; champion Holstein cow, M. Fletcher; champion dairy cow. P. G. Matthew. In Jersey cl.sses 1). 0. Matthew won tho champion nbbon for both bull and cow ]n snoop W. H. Culling won tho cup for most points in Romney classes, also champion ribbon for Romney ram and ewe. 11l Lincoln T. A. Clayden took champion ewe and C. Dibble champion ram.
The outstanding feature of the indoor exhibits was the competition in tho ladies' sections—cookery and needlework —in which there were 657 entries, making a display which would have done creditto any large show-. Mrs. John Morrison won the trophy, a silver teapot, for most points 'ii bread, etc. Mrs. L. Flower, a silver rose bowl for most- (mints in needlework sections, and Mrs. W. Crocker the points prize in preserves. There was also a ve.*y creditable display of flowers, fruit, and vegetables. The prize list was as follows :— HORSES.
