LONG STORAGE OF MEAT.
NO DETERIORATION RESULTS. LONDON EXPERTS MISLED. United Service. LONDON, Feb. 16. London is laughing at the experience of meat experts whom the High Commissioner, Sir Joseph Cook, entertained to luncheon at Australia House. Sir Joseph provided three ribs of Australian, Scotch, and Argentine beef, which were privately marked. The experts, not knowing the country of origin, were requested to taste and place the beef in order of merit. Four voted Scotch first, Australia second, Argentine third, and three voted Scotch first, Argentine second, Australia third. The significance is that the Argentine was two months old, but the Australian was two or three years, yet preference was given to .australian, notwithstanding the suggestions from some quarters that long storage resulted in great deterioration.
