PROBLEM BEFORE BRITAIN.
RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT. A and N.Z. LONDON, Fob. 16.
At an inaugural luncheon to-day Mr. MacNaughten, of the Overseas Settlement Committee, said the problem before them was land settlement all the time. The question was how to create a steady flow of settlers in such numbers that they would relieve congestion here and clothe the nakedness of the land in the Dominions, and thus save the Mother Country spending £2,000,000 a week on the relief of the unemployed.
