TWO YEARS' PROBATION.
NOT OF CRIMINAL CLASS.
Convicted of attempting to steal a lady's handbag, Leonaid Nelson (Mr. Luxford) wag admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay £10 toward the cost of the prosecution. His Honor said he was satisfied the prisoner did not belong to the crimiral class.
SENTENCE DEFERRED.
ANOTHER CHANCE GIVEN. A yoone man, William R< bert Curscn, who "pleaded gui ty to assaulting t-i« wife's foster-mother, ws ordered to ccme np for sentence at the nest sittings of the Court. More serious charges made against the prisoner wer<» thiown out by the grand jury, It was stated Cursou was already on probation, but His Honor eaid he would give him another chance and see how be behaved himself during the next three mouths.
