HEAVY FALL IN PRICES. FIGURES FOR AUSTRALIA. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, J&i. 7. The index of wholesale commodity prices at the end of December was 163,1, a fall of 3.2 on the month. The fall during the year was 35i per cent., leaving prices 62 per cent, above thosd ruling in 1913. The monthly average was 189, compared with 321 the previous year, a fall without parallel for many years. OLT.DE works reopening. SYDNEY, Jan. 7.
