HALIFAX EASILY DEFEATED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Heed. 2.-30 p.m.) LONDON, Deo. 31. The Australasian Rugby League footballers bad a runaway win against Halifax. The match was poorly contested. The visitors, who were superior in all branches, had the advantage throughout. The final scores were:—Australasia, 32 pointy (four goals, nine tries); Halifax, 6 (two tries). The Australasians will play Oldham on January 16. The suggested extra match against Wigan has been abandoned. Vest- . ing was unable to play at Halifax owing ' to a bad throat. Gray has re-entered a nursing home at Liverpool. Pearce, who broke a leg recently, is progressing well. Cubitt is holiday-making in Ireland and Scotland.
