j DEFiCIT FOR NINE MONTHS. £63,159,000 TO THE BAD. Australian and N-Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5o p.m.l LONDON. Jan. 1. The British revenue for the nine months ended December 31, was £676,831,000, and the expenditure £739,990,000, leaving a deficit of £63,159,000. The revenue showed a decrease of £211,972.000, and the expenditure of £102,699,000. compared with the corresponding period of last year. The chief decreases in revenue were ' —Stamp duties £7,420,000, Customs £2,848,000, excess profits duty—which was not operative except for arrears—£l26,64o,ooo. The chief increases were income tax £17,818,000, and corporation profits tax £19,290,000
