A championship tournament under the auspices oi the Waikato Lawn Tennis Association was opened on the new grass courts at Rostrevor Street on Saturday. Owing to recent rains the courts werrf somewhat soit, but hardened during the day. Eleven event"- have attracted large entries, and some excellent play was witnessed.
