TO-DAY'S FORECAST. ' GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows :~Present> indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, decreasing ar.d changing to north<rli.?a shortly. Weather will be changeable_ with cloudy to overcast conditions ruling at timo3. The baroraetor ha» a rising tendency, but is' likely to fall after front 24 to 36 hours. MR, C. L WRAGOE'S FORECAST. Another disturbance, named Silathed, should show signs of approach early in tho j week, but it is fexpected that this will chiefly affect Uie South Island, with wind later shifting northerly and freshening.
