TO-DAY'S FORECAST. ' GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows :~Present> indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, decreasing ar.d changing to north<rli.?a shortly. Weather will be changeable_ with cloudy to overcast conditions ruling at timo3. The baroraetor ha» a rising tendency, but is' likely to fall after front 24 to 36 hours. MR, C. L WRAGOE'S FORECAST. I The following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. Clement, L. Wragge at 1 10.30 p.m. yesterday :— I The barometer is moderately high over tho entire Dominion, while tie late disi turbanco, Rasnjoned, has passed into west j longitudo. Thus existing conditions I favour u fine Christmas, especially over I the Auckland Province. Winds light and j variable, chiefly southerly; sea moderate. Another disturbance, named Silathed, should show signs of approach early in tho j week, but it is fexpected that this will chiefly affect Uie South Island, with wind later shifting northerly and freshening.
