COMPANY DIRECTORS* POSITION. [BY mEORWH.—SMSCIAt..'REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The principal provision ini the-Municipal Corporations Amendment Bill amends paragraph (h) of section: 40 of the $20 Act, which disqualifies persons-interested in contracts witp a municipal council from being elected to or sitting on the council. At present the disqualification does not extend to "a member of an incorporated company in which there Are more than 20 members, and Of which he is neither a director W the general'manager." The Bill proposes to omit the words "neither a director nor," and to substitute the word " not," the effect being to exempt directors of companies, and to disqualify only the general manager.
