The new patient was employed in premises a considerable distance from those where the first victim worked. The authorities regard this as a proof that infected rate are more widely spread than was thought. Steps axe being taken for_the strict enforcement of the precautions operating in Queensland and other States. The shipping authorities have issued regulations with a view to guarding against a possible eprnad of the plague from Sydney. The passengers and crew 3 on all outward bound oversea vessels must bo medically inspected. The loading of a cargo for overseas and interstate ports is also to be officially supervised.
