MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES.
THREE PERSONS INJURED. ACCIDENT AT BROWN'S BAY. SOMERSAULTS OVER A BANK. An exciting motor-car accident occurred on the East Coast Road at Brown's Bay yesterday aftornoon, when a motor-car, conveying five persons, fell oyer an erabankment 2 three of the occupants—two of them an elderly injuries 'necessitating their removal to the Auckland Hospital. The injured were: Mr. Augustus Aley, aged 75, residing at 5, Rahiri Road, Mount Eden, carrying on a bookseller and stationer's business in Karangahapo Road, fractured, ribs, bruises, and shock; Mrs. Aley, aged 74, bruises to face and shock; Mr. Albert Sinclair, aged 29, an upholsterer, a married man, residing at 12, Rahiri Road, Mount Edon, severe' bruises to right log and shock. The other occupants, who escaped injuryj were Miss A, Lawson; of 23, Vermont Street, Ponsonby, and, the. grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Aley, a boy five years of age. The accident occurred at about 4 p.m., when the party were returning to Devonport from a day's outing at Brown's Bay. Mr. Aley. who is the owner of the car, was at the wheel when the car turned over an embankment between 10ft. and 12ft. high, on a rise known as Brown's Hill. The car turned three complete somersaults, throwing the occupants in all directions.
A passing motor-car took Mr. and Mrs. Aley to Devonport, whence, after being attended to by Dr. H. C. Bennett, they were taken to the hospital. Mr. Sinclair was taken to Takapuna in a motor-cycle's side-car, and was attended to by Dr. G. P. Baldwin before being sent to the hospital. The car was not very much damaged, for it was put in working order by some Good Samaritan and returned to its owner's residence at Mount EJen last evening.
