♦ j "OPENING ON WEDNESDAY. f Founded in 1876, the Agricultural- and ' Pastoral Society is holding its 45th annual show at Whangarei on Wednes- • day and Thursday of this week, Decern- , ber 7 and 8. j Starting with a small beginning the . society has made stupendous strides. This year it has reached an entry list • of over 500 in the horse classes. In . the cattle and other nominations there 1 are over 850 entries, making a total of , approximately 1400 entries for the 1921 ■ show. Successful competitors have alioI cated to them £1000 in cash and trophies, 1 as compared with £576 last year. The l membership oi the society now stands at 375.
