SEA CAPTAINS ENTERTAINED.
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' SOCIAL
The Auckland Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association held a "skipper's night" on Saturday evening, when a nucber of captains of vessels in port were entertained at the clubrooms. Mr. H. J. Clifton presided, and in welcoming the guests acknowledged the kind treatment commercial men receive from the captains of vessels. Amusing reminiscences were related by the guests and commercial travellers. The programme was a long one, the various vocal and other items being much appreciated, and encores being in demand. Members of '"The Smart Set Diggers" from the Opera House contributed musical and elocutionary items, which were greatly appreciated.
